A small village on the island Brac, directly in front of the coast of Split in the south of Croatia. A village with about 500 inhabitants wich really gives you the feeling that time stood still. Peace, pleasant inhabitants and ... diving at places where no diver has been yet! The village is located in one of the beautiful bays on the island. Magnificent views over a turquoise-blue sea. Cosy restaurants, pubs, terraces, and everything within walking distance. Also for non-divers an excellent place to relax. For an impression you can watch the slideshows at our website.

No mass-tourism but peace and friendlyness.

For non-divers recommendable as well.

A divecentre under Dutch leadership with daily boatdives and snorkeltrips. Our instructors and divemasters speak Dutch, Englisch and German. Introductiondives, courses, wreckdiving and specialties. We offer boatdives in small groups, with a maximum of 12 divers. There is also a possibility to book a private charter with or without lunch.

Our divecentre is equipped with a compressor, rental equipment, rinsing fascilities as well as storage for your own equipment.

Diving on plateaus of 10 to 23 meters makes the divesites accessible for every diving level. For the more experienced divers combined with steep walls and drop offs up to 40 meters. Amphoras and fields of giant mussels make the diving area extra special. Introductions and courses take place in a nearby bay with a maximum depth of about 12 meters.

Almost every divesite from Adria Diving Povlja has a maximum sailing distance of about 25 minutes. A perfect location to start in the morning, make two dives and to come back at noon. Afterwards have lunch and go for a third dive in the afternoon or..... spend the remainder of the day taking in the sights of the island with your family.

Twice a week we organize a divetrip to the mainland, where at Vruja a fresh water river is coming out underwater into the sea. The combination of salt and fresh water makes this divesite one of the most special of the entire Croatian coast. It is listed as one of the top ten of best divesites in Croatia! Beautiful overgrown walls, many different fish and other species of underwater life, with a cave at a depth of 27 meters.

This trip can be combined with a second dive to the wreck of the "Metkovic". A cargo ship carrying cement which shipwrecked in front of the coast of Mimice.
The wreck begins at a depth of 3 meters and its maximum depth is 12 meters. Which makes it an ideal divesite for novice divers as well as more experienced ones.

We organize various boattrips for a minimum of 6 people. For example: an inland rafting trip on the river Cetina (day trip). Another worthwhile trip is one along the coast of the island, which can be combined with a stop at one of the local restaurants, only accessable by boat.

How to get there:

By car:

From the Netherlands: Venlo - Keulen - Regensburg - Passau - Graz - Maribor - Zagreb - Split. As from the middle of 2005 the highway from Zagreb to Split has been completed wich means a lot of time to be gained. From Split you take the ferry to Supetar on the island Brac. This is a beautiful trip of +/- one hour. After you get to the island it is another 40 kilometers before you arrive in Povlja. Look at our link page for ANWB routeplanner and Jadrolinija for the ferry schedule.

By airplane:

With Croatia airlines from Amsterdam, Brussels to Split. Also (limited) from Zagreb directly to Bol at the island Brac.

With Germanwings from Cologne to Split. Fares beginning at € 110,= (roundtrip) depending on departure / arrival days and how long in advance you make your reservation. Look at our link page.

Split airport offers transfers to the harbour, from where the ferry will take you to Brac. From there we can offer you a transfer to Povlja at your request.

ACCOMODATIONS:

Most of the inhabitants rent beautiful appartments located next to there own houses with a great view of the Adriatic Sea and the mountains. The apartments are equipped with a bathroom with toilet, sink, bath or shower and a kitchenette.
